This is the last time
in which i'll speak of you

so much better to write about
i think that i'll call this
my anthem for closure
pages and pages of wasted words
in the letters i sent to you
well i am sorry words
that i wasted you on her
you could have been used for something good
held you in, then fired you out
but words, you are a lot to swallow
when you're going down with pride

or she crumpled you or at least she cursed you
said mean and hateful things that seemed to be directed at you
but i'm here assuring you
that they were meant for me
and that i am sorry words
i feel your pain cause she hurt me too
so what if i made it up
you got all worked up over nothing
and who cares if it's not fair
you have to walk away with something.
